Article 67 of Resolution #5477 of 2022 establishes this type of migrant visa for foreigners who have a marital relationship with a Colombian citizen and aspire to live effectively with their Colombian spouse in the country.

This visa can be granted for up to 3 renewable years.

Specific requirements:

1.      Have a valid passport or travel document, in good condition, and with blank space for visas. 🛂

2.      Authentic copy of the Colombian Civil Registry of marriage, issued within 3 months prior to visa application or apostilled, legalized, and translated marriage certificate if applicable when the marriage was performed abroad. 👰🤵‍♂️

3.      Letter of application signed by the Colombian spouse, requesting the visa for the foreign spouse and declaring the effective cohabitation. The letter must clearly state the Colombian spouse's contact phone number, physical and electronic address, and must be accompanied by a simple copy of the Colombian citizenship card. The Visa and Immigration Authority may request additional evidence to prove the effective existence of the relationship or call for an in-person, virtual, or telephone interview, when deemed necessary. 🤝

4.      Properly authenticated special power of attorney, with diligence of recognition of content and signature before a notary or Colombian consul for the foreign couple to apply for this type of visa. ✒️

5.      Certificate of migratory movements of the foreigner issued by the Special Administrative Unit Migration Colombia and of their Colombian spouse. ✈️

6.      Digital photo of the front, with a white background, measuring 4 x 3 cm, with a neutral expression. Without accessories: earrings, glasses, hats, and maximum weight of 100 kb. 📸

7.      Pay government fees: Study 55 USD Issue 270 USD Foreigner Cedula de “Extranjeria” 50 USD approx. 💰

Other documents that may be required at the discretion of the authority:

·         If you are in Colombia, you must have a valid legal stay or "Salvoconducto". Photocopy of the passport page that certifies the last entry or exit stamp from Colombia. 📄

·         Itinerary or travel tickets if you are outside the country. 🗺️

·         Address of location in the country, whether Hotel, Temporary Accommodation, Rented Housing, or place where you will be received. 🏘️

·         Criminal or judicial records of the applicant's country of origin or residence. Apostilled, legalized, and translated if applicable. 📂

·         Policy, contract, plan, or comprehensive assistance program with coverage in the national territory. 🛡️
